How to Use

Dosage

One 100 mg film-coated tablet once a day. If you have kidney problems, your doctor might prescribe a lower dose (like 25 mg or 50 mg).

Method

Take by mouth, with or without food and drink.

Important

The maximum daily dose is usually 100 mg.

  • Skin blisters (bullous pemphigoid)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to sitagliptin or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Stop taking this medicine and contact your doctor immediately if you have severe and ongoing stomach pain, with or without nausea and vomiting, as these could be signs of pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas).
  • Stop taking this medicine and contact your doctor immediately if you experience a severe allergic reaction like rash, hives, skin blistering or peeling, and swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, which may cause difficulty breathing or swallowing.
  • Tell your doctor if you get skin blisters, as this could be a sign of a serious skin condition called bullous pemphigoid, and your doctor may ask you to stop this medicine.
  • If you take this medicine with a sulfonylurea or insulin, your blood sugar may drop too low. Your doctor may need to adjust the dose of your sulfonylurea or insulin.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C
