How to Use

Dosage

One 100 mg tablet.

Method

Take once daily by mouth. You can take it with or without food.

Important

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to sitagliptin or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Stop taking this medicine and tell your doctor right away if you have severe and ongoing stomach pain, with or without nausea and vomiting. This could be a sign of pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas).
  • Stop taking this medicine and tell your doctor right away if you get a severe allergic reaction, such as a rash, hives, skin blistering/peeling, or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, and throat that may cause trouble breathing or swallowing.
  • If you notice blisters on your skin, tell your doctor. This could be a sign of a skin condition called bullous pemphigoid, and your doctor may ask you to stop this medicine.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have or have had pancreas problems, gallstones, alcoholism, very high triglyceride levels (a type of fat in your blood), type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis (a serious diabetes complication with high blood sugar, fast weight loss, nausea, or vomiting), or kidney problems.

  • If you take this medicine with other diabetes medicines like sulfonylureas or insulin, your blood sugar might drop too low. Your doctor may need to adjust your dose.
  • Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • This medicine is not for children or teenagers under 18 years old.
  • This medicine may cause dizziness or drowsiness, which can affect your ability to drive or use machines. Be careful, especially if taking it with sulfonylureas or insulin, as this can cause low blood sugar.
