How to Use

Dosage

The recommended starting dose is 50 mg.

Method

Take the tablet whole with a glass of water about one hour before sexual activity.

Important

Do not take more than one tablet per day.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to sildenafil, peanuts, soy, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you are using nitrate medicines (often for chest pain) or nitric oxide donors like amyl nitrite ("poppers"), as this combination can dangerously lower your blood pressure.
  • Do not take if you are taking riociguat (for high blood pressure in the lungs).
  • Do not take if you have severe heart or liver problems, recently had a stroke or heart attack, have low blood pressure, or have certain rare inherited eye diseases or vision loss due to a rare optic nerve condition.
  • Stop taking this medicine and contact a doctor immediately if you experience sudden blurred vision or vision loss.

  • Seek immediate medical help if you have an erection that lasts longer than 4 hours or is painful.
  • Seek immediate medical help if you experience symptoms of an allergic reaction, such as sudden wheezing, difficulty breathing, dizziness, or swelling of the eyelids, face, lips, or throat.
  • If you experience chest pain during or after sexual activity, sit up, try to relax, and do not use nitrates to treat it. Seek medical help.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Reduce the dose in severe renal impairment. Reduce the dose in liver impairment. Significant adverse reactions include hypotension, ortostatic hypotension, headache and visual disturbances. Consider potential interactions especially with nitrates. (updated 25.11.2024)
