How to Use

Dosage

The recommended starting dose is 50 mg.

Method

Take the tablet about one hour before planned sexual activity, swallow whole with a glass of water. You can take it with or without food, but its effect may start slower if taken with a heavy meal.

Important

Do not take Sildenafil Stada more than once per day. Doses over 100 mg do not increase effectiveness.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • headache
  • nausea
  • facial flushing and hot flushes (sudden feeling of warmth in the upper body)
  • indigestion
  • intensified color vision (e.g., seeing blue tint)
  • blurred vision
  • visual disturbances
  • stuffy nose
  • dizziness
RARE
  • Allergic reaction (symptoms include sudden wheezing, difficulty breathing or dizziness, swelling of eyelids, face, lips or throat)
  • Chest pains (during or after sexual intercourse)
  • Prolonged and sometimes painful erections (if erection lasts more than 4 hours, contact a doctor immediately)
  • Sudden decrease or loss of vision
  • Severe skin reactions (symptoms include severe skin peeling and swelling, blisters in the mouth, genitals and around the eyes, fever)
  • Seizures or convulsions

  • irregular heartbeat
  • temporary decreased blood flow to parts of the brain
  • feeling of tightness in throat
  • numb mouth
  • bleeding at back of eye
  • double vision
  • decreased visual sharpness
  • abnormal sensation in eye
  • eye or eyelid swelling
  • small dots or spots in visual field
  • halos around lights
  • pupil dilation
  • discoloration of eye white
  • bleeding from penis
  • blood in semen

  • swelling inside nose

  • sudden decrease or loss of hearing

Important Warnings

  • If you are allergic to sildenafil, peanuts, soy, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • If you are using nitrate medicines, as this combination can dangerously lower your blood pressure.
  • If you are using nitric oxide donor medicines, such as amyl nitrite ("poppers"), as this can also dangerously lower your blood pressure.
  • If you are taking riociguat.
  • If you have severe heart or liver problems.

  • If you have recently had a stroke or heart attack, or if you have low blood pressure.
  • If you have a rare inherited eye disease, such as retinitis pigmentosa.
  • If you have ever lost vision due to a rare optic nerve condition.
  • If your vision suddenly gets worse or you lose your vision, stop using the medicine and contact a doctor immediately.
  • If you are taking ritonavir (for HIV infection), do not use Sildenafil Stada.
  • Do not use Sildenafil Stada tablets at the same time as other oral or local treatments for erectile dysfunction.
  • Do not use sildenafil or medicines for high pulmonary blood pressure that contain sildenafil or other PDE5 inhibitors at the same time.
  • Do not take Sildenafil Stada if you do not have erectile dysfunction.
  • Do not take Sildenafil Stada if you are a woman.
  • If you have sickle cell anemia (abnormal red blood cells), leukemia (blood cell cancer), or multiple myeloma (bone marrow cancer).
  • If you have a deformed penis or Peyronie's disease.
  • If you have heart problems, your doctor needs to check if your heart can handle the extra strain of sexual activity.
  • If you currently have a stomach ulcer or bleeding problems (like hemophilia).
  • Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to peanuts or soy lecithin.
  • May cause allergic reactions (due to new coccine).
  • Sildenafil Stada tablets can cause dizziness and affect vision. Observe your reactions before driving or operating machinery.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Reduce the dose in severe renal impairment. Reduce the dose in liver impairment. Significant adverse reactions include hypotension, ortostatic hypotension, headache and visual disturbances. Consider potential interactions especially with nitrates. (updated 25.11.2024)
