How to Use

Dosage

Apply a thin layer of cream to the affected skin area 1-3 times a day. Once symptoms improve, once a day is usually enough.

Method

Apply a thin layer of cream only to the rash areas. Do not use on open wounds.

Important

For short-term use. Do not use continuously for more than two weeks on thin skin areas or for diaper rash. Consult your doctor if you need to use it longer or on larger areas.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Skin thinning and fragility, especially on sensitive areas like around the eyes, face, armpits, and skin folds.
  • Stretch marks.
  • Enlarged small blood vessels under the skin.
  • Bruising or bleeding under the skin.
RARE
  • Weakening of adrenal gland function.
  • Cataracts (clouding of the eye lens).
  • Glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye).
  • Blurred vision.
  • Anaphylactic shock (a very serious allergic reaction).
  • Hypersensitivity reactions.
  • Allergic contact dermatitis (skin rash from contact).
  • Excessive hair growth in treated areas.
  • Rash around the mouth (perioral dermatitis).
  • Changes in skin color.
  • Worsening of the skin rash.
  • Serious eye damage, including corneal damage and permanent vision loss, especially if the medicine accidentally gets into the eyes during surgery while under anesthesia.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to hydrocortisone, chlorhexidine digluconate, or any other ingredient in Sibicort.
  • Do not use on open wounds, leg ulcers, or bedsores.
  • Do not use if you have skin infections caused by viruses (like herpes, chickenpox), syphilis, tuberculosis, or fungi (other than yeast infections which Sibicort treats).
  • Do not let the cream get into your eyes. If it does, rinse thoroughly with water immediately and contact a doctor if irritation, redness, pain, or vision problems occur.
  • Contact a doctor immediately if you experience swelling in your throat or mouth, or have difficulty breathing.

  • Sibicort may worsen rosacea or perioral dermatitis (rash around the mouth).
  • Use with caution on sensitive skin areas (e.g., genitals, around the eyes). Long-term use on thin skin or for diaper rash should not exceed two weeks. Children and elderly patients are more susceptible to side effects from long-term use.
  • Sibicort contains cetostearyl alcohol, which may cause local skin reactions (e.g., contact dermatitis).
