How to Use
Dosage
The usual dose is 50 mg once a day, but your doctor might change it.
Method
You can take this medicine with or without food, once a day, either in the morning or in the evening.
Important
The maximum dose you can take is 200 mg per day.

- •Seizures
- •Manic mood (feeling overly excited or energetic)
- •Feeling restless and needing to move (akathisia)
- •Easy bruising or bleeding
- •Low salt in your blood
- •Increased risk of bone fractures
- •Lockjaw
- •Bedwetting
- •Inflammation of the large intestine
- •Very heavy vaginal bleeding right after childbirth
Important Warnings
- Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to sertraline or any of its ingredients.
- Do not take this medicine with certain other antidepressants called MAOIs, or with linezolid or pimozide. You must wait a specific time between stopping one medicine and starting the other.
- If you have thoughts of harming yourself or taking your own life, contact your doctor or go to a hospital right away.
- If you have epilepsy or have had seizures before, tell your doctor. Contact your doctor immediately if you have a seizure while taking this medicine.
- Avoid alcohol and grapefruit juice while taking this medicine.

- Children and teenagers under 18 should only take this medicine for OCD, and doctors will monitor them closely.
Use in Elderly Patients
Category C
