How to Use

Dosage

For adults, the typical starting dose is 50 mg daily, which can be gradually increased by your doctor up to a maximum of 200 mg daily. For panic disorder, social anxiety, and PTSD, start with 25 mg daily for one week before increasing to 50 mg. For children (6-17) with OCD, the starting dose is 25-50 mg daily, with a maximum of 200 mg daily.

Method

You can take Sertralin Krka tablets with or without food, once a day, either in the morning or evening.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 200 mg.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Insomnia or sleepiness
  • Dizziness or headache
  • Diarrhea, nausea, or dry mouth
  • Failure to ejaculate (in men)
  • Fatigue
  • Anxiety or nervousness
  • Tremors or muscle problems (like increased movement, muscle tension, difficulty walking, muscle cramps)
  • Indigestion or stomach pain
  • Increased sweating or skin rash
  • Irregular periods (in women) or erection problems (in men)
  • Heart palpitations or hot flushes
RARE
  • Severe skin reactions with blisters (like Stevens-Johnson syndrome) – seek medical help immediately.
  • Allergic reactions with swelling of the face or throat, difficulty breathing, or itching.
  • Yellow skin or eyes (jaundice), indicating liver problems.
  • Thoughts of self-harm or suicide – seek medical help immediately.
  • Seizures, confusion, or severe restlessness (akathisia).
  • Serotonin syndrome: agitation, confusion, fast heartbeat, fever, sweating, diarrhea (especially if taking other medicines).
  • Unusual movements or difficulty moving, fainting spells, sudden severe headache.
  • Heart attack or abnormal heart rhythm.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to sertraline or any other ingredients, or if you are taking MAO inhibitors (like selegiline, moclobemide, linezolid) or pimozide.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have epilepsy, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, diabetes, liver problems, or if you have had thoughts of self-harm or suicide.
  • If you suddenly stop taking this medicine, you might experience withdrawal symptoms like dizziness, numbness, or anxiety. Always reduce the dose gradually under your doctor's supervision.
  • Avoid alcohol and grapefruit juice during treatment with Sertralin Krka.
  • If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to have children, discuss this with your doctor before taking Sertralin Krka, as it may affect the baby or fertility.
