How to Use

Dosage

The typical starting dose is 25 mg or 50 mg daily, depending on the condition.

Method

Take the tablet once daily, either in the morning or in the evening, with or without food. The tablet can be divided into equal doses.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 200 mg.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to sertraline or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take this medicine with certain other medicines called MAO inhibitors (like moclobemide, selegiline, linezolid, or methylene blue). Wait at least 1-2 weeks between stopping one and starting the other.
  • Do not take this medicine with pimozide, a medicine used for mental disorders.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you experience a severe blistering rash, an allergic reaction (swelling, difficulty breathing), or symptoms like agitation, confusion, fever, and a fast heartbeat, as these could be serious.
  • If you have thoughts of harming yourself or suicide, contact your doctor or go to a hospital immediately.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C
