  • Do not take Seromex with certain other medicines called MAO inhibitors, as this can cause very serious reactions. Wait at least two weeks after stopping an MAO inhibitor before starting Seromex, and at least 5 weeks after stopping Seromex before starting an MAO inhibitor.
  • Do not take Seromex if you are taking metoprolol for heart failure, as it can make your heart beat too slowly.
  • If you experience fever, stiff muscles, shaking, confusion, irritability, or extreme agitation, contact your doctor immediately as these could be signs of serotonin syndrome, which can be life-threatening.
  • If you have thoughts of harming yourself or suicide at any point during this treatment, contact your doctor immediately or go straight to a hospital.

  • If you feel restless and can't sit or stand still (akathisia), contact your doctor. Increasing the Seromex dose may make this worse.
  • Tell your doctor immediately if your skin becomes red, develops different skin reactions, or starts to blister or peel. This is rare.
  • For patients under 18, there is a higher risk of side effects like suicide attempts, suicidal thoughts, and hostility. Seromex should only be used in 8-18 year olds for moderate to severe depression, alongside psychotherapy, and not for other conditions. It should not be used in children under 8 years of age.
