Serevent Diskus helps open up the small airways in your lungs for at least 12 hours, making breathing easier, and is used for long-term treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) alongside other medications.
For adults and children over 4 years old, the usual dose is one inhalation (50 micrograms) twice a day. Your doctor might tell you to take two inhalations (2 x 50 micrograms) twice a day.
Inhale the medicine through your mouth using the Diskus device. Breathe out completely, then place the Diskus mouthpiece between your lips, sealing them tightly. Breathe in steadily and deeply through your mouth, not your nose. Remove the Diskus, hold your breath for about 10 seconds or as long as you can, then breathe out slowly.
Do not use Serevent Diskus more than two times a day, with a maximum total of 200 micrograms (four inhalations) daily if prescribed by your doctor.
Suitable for older adults. Potentiates sympathomimetic effects. May cause hypokalaemia. (updated 15.5.2023)
