How to Use

Dosage

One spray into each nostril, up to 3 times a day, as needed.

Method

Remove the cap. For first use, or if not used for a while, pump 5 times until a fine mist appears. Insert the nozzle into your nostril, keep the bottle upright, spray once, and gently breathe in. Repeat for the other nostril. Clean the nozzle and replace the cap after each use.

Important

Do not use more than the recommended daily dose. Use for a maximum of 7 days in a row, then take a break of several days before using again.

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Allergic reactions such as swelling of the skin and mucous membranes, rash, or itching.
  • Nosebleed.
  • Feeling your heart beat fast or irregular (palpitations).
  • High blood pressure.
  • Restlessness, difficulty sleeping (insomnia), or feeling very tired (drowsiness).
  • Headache.
  • Seeing or hearing things that are not there (hallucinations), especially in children.
  • Swelling of the nasal lining after you stop using the medicine.
  • Convulsions or seizures, especially in children.
  • Burning sensation and dryness in the nose, or sneezing.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to xylometazoline hydrochloride, dexpanthenol, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have dry inflammation of the nasal lining with crusts (rhinitis sicca).
  • Do not use if you have had surgery through the nose that exposed the brain lining.
  • This medicine should not be used by children under 10 years of age.
  • If you have long-term (chronic) rhinitis, use this medicine only under a doctor's supervision due to the risk of nasal lining damage.

  • Using too much or incorrectly, especially in children, can cause serious side effects in the body.
  • Avoid direct contact with your eyes.
  • Do not use during pregnancy or while breastfeeding without talking to your doctor.
  • Talk to your doctor if you are using medicines for depression (MAO inhibitors) or other medicines that can raise blood pressure.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have high eye pressure (glaucoma), especially narrow-angle glaucoma.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have serious heart or blood vessel disease (e.g., coronary artery disease, high blood pressure, long QT syndrome).
  • Talk to your doctor if you have a tumor on your adrenal gland (pheochromocytoma).
  • Talk to your doctor if you have metabolic problems (e.g., overactive thyroid, diabetes).
  • Talk to your doctor if you have porphyria.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have an enlarged prostate.
  • Do not use this medicine with other cold or cough medicines containing decongestants (like pseudoephedrine, phenylephrine) as it can increase side effects on the heart and nervous system.
