How to Use

Dosage

Adults and children over 12 years: 3-4 lozenges per day. Children 6-12 years: 3 lozenges per day, only with a doctor's prescription and adult supervision.

Method

Let the lozenge slowly dissolve in your mouth every 3-6 hours. Do not take with milk or just before/during/after eating or drinking. Wait at least one hour after taking before eating or drinking. Avoid using right before or after brushing your teeth.

Important

Do not exceed the stated dose. Do not use for more than 7 days. Contact a doctor if symptoms worsen, don't improve after 3 days, or if you get a fever.

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Hives (itchy rash)
  • Increased skin sensitivity to sunlight
  • Sudden tightening of airways in the lungs (difficulty breathing)
  • Local irritation in the mouth
  • Burning feeling in the mouth
  • Allergic reaction
  • Severe allergic reaction (like difficulty breathing, chest pain, dizziness, severe itching, skin bumps, swelling of face/lips/tongue/throat; can be life-threatening)
  • Burning feeling of the lining of the mouth
  • Numbness of the lining of the mouth

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to any ingredient in this medicine. It is not for children under 6 years old.
  • Do not use if you are allergic to aspirin or other anti-inflammatory medicines (NSAIDs).
  • Be careful if you have or have had asthma.
  • Do not use if you have open wounds or sores in your mouth or throat (for example, after a tooth removal).
  • Do not use for more than 7 days. If your symptoms get worse, don't get better after 3 days, or if you get a fever, see a doctor.

  • Long-term use can cause your mouth to become more sensitive. If this happens, stop using it and see a doctor.
  • Do not use this medicine at the same time as toothpaste or other anionic products, or other antiseptic medicines.
  • Do not take with milk, as milk can make the lozenges less effective.
  • This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy. Talk to your doctor about using it while breastfeeding.
  • It contains benzyl alcohol, which can cause allergic reactions. If you have liver or kidney disease, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, ask your doctor as large amounts can build up and cause side effects.
  • It contains butylhydroxyanisole, which can cause skin rashes or eye and mucous membrane irritation.
