Method

Sendoxan is usually given as a slow injection into a vein (infusion) by healthcare staff, or sometimes as tablets.

Important

The maximum daily dose is determined by your doctor as part of your treatment plan, given in cycles with breaks.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Low white blood cells (leading to infections), low red blood cells (anemia), and low platelets (bleeding problems) due to bone marrow not making enough blood cells.
  • Weakened immune system.
  • Feeling sick (nausea) and throwing up (vomiting).
  • Hair loss.
  • Bladder inflammation and blood in your urine.
  • Fever and chills.
  • Feeling very tired and weak.
  • Infections.
RARE
  • Serious infections like pneumonia or blood poisoning.
  • Allergic reactions, including severe allergic shock.
  • Loss of appetite.
  • Nerve problems like numbness, tingling, nerve pain, seizures, or vision changes.
  • Hearing loss.
  • Heart problems like fast or irregular heartbeat, heart muscle weakness, or chest pain.
  • Stomach and gut issues like diarrhea, constipation, mouth sores, stomach pain, or bleeding.
  • Problems with fertility, like reduced sperm production, ovulation issues, or missed periods.
  • Developing other cancers, like leukemia or tumors in the urinary tract.
  • Dehydration, dizziness, confusion, or swelling.
  • Liver problems like inflammation, yellow skin (jaundice), or enlarged liver.
  • Skin reactions like rashes, inflammation, severe peeling skin, or hives.
  • Muscle pain, cramps, or muscle breakdown.
  • Kidney problems, kidney failure, or higher levels of waste in your blood.
  • Headache, pain, or weight gain.
  • Flu-like illness.
  • Increased tearing or ringing in the ears (tinnitus).
  • Lung problems like fluid in the lungs, scarring (fibrosis), shortness of breath, or cough.
  • Low or high blood sugar.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to cyclophosphamide or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor if your bone marrow is not working well (e.g., from previous cancer treatments).
  • Do not use if you have bladder inflammation, blood in your urine, or blocked urinary passages.
  • Do not use if you have an active infection.
  • Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Discuss contraception with your doctor.
