How to Use

Dosage

For adults, the typical dose is 2.5–15 mg intravenously over 4–5 minutes, or 5–20 mg subcutaneously or intramuscularly (usually 10 mg) every 4 hours as needed. For epidural injection, the initial dose is 5 mg, with an additional 1–2 mg after one hour if needed.

Method

Sendolor is given as an injection into a vein (intravenously), under the skin (subcutaneously), into a muscle (intramuscularly), or into the epidural space (around the spinal cord).

  • Redness in the face
  • Slow or shallow breathing
  • Itching
  • Pain or irritation at the injection site
  • Dizziness or lightheadedness when standing up too quickly
  • Needing the medicine to feel normal (drug dependence)
  • Feeling more sensitive to pain
  • Higher levels of liver enzymes (shown in blood tests)
  • Reduced sexual interest or difficulty getting/maintaining an erection
  • Unpleasant symptoms if you stop taking the medicine suddenly
  • Needing higher doses to get the same effect
  • Pauses in breathing during sleep
  • Symptoms like severe upper abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, or fever related to pancreas or bile duct inflammation

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Sendolor if you are allergic to morphine or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor if you have severe breathing problems or a lot of mucus in your airways.
  • Inform your doctor if you have a serious liver disease.
  • Avoid alcohol and certain sedatives while using Sendolor, as this can worsen breathing problems and cause drowsiness.
  • This medicine can cause dependence and tolerance, meaning you might need more of it over time for the same effect.

  • This medicine can make you drowsy and affect your ability to drive or operate machines safely.
  • Seek immediate medical help if you develop a severe skin rash with blisters, peeling skin, pus-filled spots, and fever.
  • If you or others notice pauses in breathing during sleep, waking up short of breath, or excessive daytime sleepiness, talk to your doctor.
  • Contact your doctor if you experience severe upper abdominal pain that may spread to your back, with nausea, vomiting, or fever.
