How to Use

Dosage

For adults, 2.5–15 mg given intravenously over 4–5 minutes, or 5–20 mg (usually 10 mg) subcutaneously or intramuscularly.

Method

This medicine is given as an injection into a vein, under the skin, or into a muscle. It can also be given into the epidural space.

Important

The total daily dose for epidural injection is usually 10 mg. Doses may vary for continuous infusions or other methods as determined by your doctor.

  • Sleep apnea (breathing pauses during sleep)
  • Symptoms related to pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas) and bile duct problems, such as severe upper abdominal pain that may radiate to the back, nausea, vomiting, or fever.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to morphine hydrochloride or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have a lot of mucus in your airways or suffer from breathing problems (shortness of breath).
  • Do not use if you have acute liver disease.
  • Do not use if you feel restless while under the influence of alcohol or medicines used for sleep.
  • This medicine carries a risk of habituation, dependence, and addiction, and your body may also develop tolerance to it.

  • Seek immediate medical help if you experience a severe skin reaction with blisters, widespread peeling, and pus-filled bumps along with fever.
  • Sendolor can cause sleep-related breathing disorders like sleep apnea and low oxygen levels in the blood. Contact your doctor if you or someone else notices these symptoms.
  • Contact your doctor if you experience severe upper abdominal pain that may radiate to the back, nausea, vomiting, or fever, as these can be symptoms of pancreatitis or gallbladder problems.
