How to Use

Dosage

For adults, a typical dose might be 2.5 to 20 mg, given as an injection or infusion. Your doctor will tell you your exact dose.

Method

Sendolor is given as an injection or infusion into a vein, under the skin, or into a muscle. It can also be given near the spinal cord.

Important

The maximum daily dose will be determined by your doctor, depending on how you take it and your condition.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Feeling sleepy or drowsy
  • Feeling confused
  • Feeling dizzy
  • Headache
  • Small pupils
  • Loss of appetite
  • Dry mouth
  • Feeling sick (nausea) or throwing up (vomiting)
  • Constipation
  • Sweating
  • Difficulty emptying your bladder
RARE
  • Allergic reaction (like rash or swelling)
  • Feeling agitated or restless
  • Seeing or hearing things that are not there (hallucinations)
  • Changes in mood
  • Convulsions or seizures
  • Muscle stiffness or rigidity
  • Abnormal heart rate (too slow or too fast)
  • Slow or shallow breathing (respiratory depression)
  • Itching
  • Pain or irritation where the injection was given
  • Feeling dizzy or faint when standing up (low blood pressure)
  • Changes in liver enzyme levels (shown in blood tests)
  • Decreased sex drive or inability to get/keep an erection (impotence)

Important Warnings

  • This medicine can be addictive, and your body can get used to it over time. This means you might need more of the medicine for the same effect.
  • Do not use Sendolor if you are allergic to morphine or any other ingredients, have severe breathing problems, a lot of mucus in your airways, or severe liver disease.
  • Tell your doctor if you have asthma, a head injury, low blood pressure, thyroid problems, kidney or liver problems, bowel issues, pancreas inflammation, gallstone issues, bladder spasm, or have had seizures or withdrawal symptoms.
  • Contact your doctor right away if you get severe skin rashes, blisters, widespread peeling skin with fever, severe stomach pain, or breathing problems while sleeping (like sleep apnea).
  • Do not drink alcohol while using Sendolor, as it can make breathing problems worse.

  • If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor. Sendolor should not be used during breastfeeding.
  • This medicine can make you sleepy and affect your ability to drive or use machines safely.
