Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Headache
RARE
  • Rash, itching, swelling of face/lips/tongue/throat, difficulty breathing, hives (allergic reactions)
  • Dizziness, trembling, confusion, numbness or tingling around the mouth, vision changes, ringing in the ears
  • Fast or slow heartbeat, palpitations, low blood pressure, high blood pressure
  • Nausea, vomiting, mouth sores, swollen gums or tongue
  • Tiredness, weakness, chills, sweating, pain or swelling at the injection site

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to this medicine or similar numbing medicines.
  • Tell your dentist if you have severe heart rhythm problems or other heart conditions.
  • Do not use if you have epilepsy that is not controlled by medicine.
  • This medicine should not be given to children under 4 years old (or weighing less than 20 kg).
  • Do not eat or chew gum until the numbness wears off completely, to avoid accidentally biting your lips, cheeks, or tongue.

  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your dentist. Breastfeeding mothers should wait 10 hours after the injection before breastfeeding again.
  • This medicine may cause dizziness. Do not drive or operate machines until you are sure the effects have worn off (usually within 30 minutes).
