How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will decide your dose based on your weight and condition, usually split into two doses per day.

Method

Take the capsules whole with water at the same time each day. Do not take with grapefruit or grapefruit juice.

Important

Do not take more than your doctor prescribes. For certain kidney conditions, the first daily dose should not be more than 2.5 mg per kg of body weight.

  • Stomach ulcers
  • Gum overgrowth around teeth
  • High uric acid or potassium in the blood, low magnesium in the blood
RARE
  • Brain disorders, with symptoms like sudden seizures, confusion, sleeplessness, disorientation, vision problems, unconsciousness, limb weakness, or impaired movement.
  • Skin rash
  • General swelling
  • Weight gain
  • Low red blood cell count or low platelet count, which can increase bleeding risk.
  • Nerve problems with numbness or tingling in fingers and toes.
  • Pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas) with severe upper abdominal pain.
  • Muscle weakness, loss of muscle strength, or pain in leg or arm muscles or other parts of the body.
  • Destruction of red blood cells leading to kidney problems, with symptoms like swelling of face, stomach, hands, or feet; less urination; breathing difficulties; chest pain; seizures; or unconsciousness.
  • Changes in menstrual cycle, or breast enlargement in men.
  • Swelling behind the eye, possibly with increased pressure in the head and vision problems.
  • Severe liver problems, which may include yellowing of the eyes or skin, nausea, loss of appetite, dark urine, or swelling of the face, legs, arms, or whole body.
  • Bleeding under the skin or purple spots on the skin, or sudden bleeding without a clear reason.
  • Migraine or severe headache, often with nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light.
  • Pain in the legs and feet.
  • Hearing loss.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to ciclosporin or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take with medicines containing St. John's Wort.
  • Do not take with medicines like dabigatran etexilate (for blood clots), bosentan, or aliskiren (for high blood pressure).
  • This medicine can weaken your immune system, increasing your risk of infections and certain cancers, especially skin cancers. Tell your doctor immediately if you have signs of infection like fever or sore throat. Protect your skin from sun and UV light.
  • Tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems. Your doctor will monitor your kidney function regularly.

  • Tell your doctor if you have low magnesium or high potassium levels in your blood.
  • Tell your doctor if you have gout.
  • Tell your doctor if you need to be vaccinated.
  • Tell your doctor if you have or have had alcohol-related problems or epilepsy, as this medicine contains alcohol.
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. This medicine is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
