Sammibi is a radioactive medicine used to create images of your heart, breasts, or parathyroid glands to help doctors diagnose conditions.
Your doctor will decide the exact dose you need, which is the smallest amount required for the examination. For adults, the usual dose is between 200 and 2000 MBq. For children and teenagers, the dose is based on their weight.
Sammibi is given as an injection into a vein in your arm or foot. You may receive one or two injections, depending on the examination. You will be asked to drink fluids and urinate often after the injection.
The maximum daily dose for heart studies is 2000 MBq if given on the same day.
