How to Use
Dosage
One inhalation twice a day.
Method
Inhale the powder into your lungs through your mouth using the inhaler.
Important
Do not take more than two inhalations in 24 hours unless your doctor tells you to.
Possible Side Effects
COMMON
- •Headache.
- •Thrush (white spots), pain in tongue, hoarseness, and throat irritation in the mouth and throat.
- •Aching, swollen joints and muscle pain.
- •Muscle cramps.
RARE
- •Increased blood sugar levels.
- •Cataracts (clouding of the eye lens).
- •Very fast heartbeat.
- •Shaking (tremor) and fast or uneven heartbeat (palpitations).
- •Chest pain.
- •Feeling anxious (mainly in children).
- •Sleep problems.
- •Allergic skin rash.
- •Worsening breathing difficulties or wheezing right after using the medicine (stop use and contact doctor immediately if this happens).
- •Changes in behavior, like being unusually active or irritable (mainly in children).
- •Uneven or irregular heartbeat or extra heartbeats (arrhythmias).
- •Fungal infection in the esophagus, which can cause difficulty swallowing.
- •Feeling sad or aggressive (more likely in children).
- •Blurred vision.
Important Warnings
- Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to salmeterol, fluticasone propionate, or lactose.
- Tell your doctor if you have heart problems, overactive thyroid, high blood pressure, diabetes, low potassium, or any lung infection like tuberculosis.
- This medicine is for preventing asthma symptoms and should not be used for sudden, severe breathing problems. Always have a fast-acting inhaler for emergencies.
- This medicine is not for children under 12 years old.
- Do not stop using this medicine or change your dose without talking to your doctor first, as this can make your breathing problems worse.
