How to Use

Dosage

One inhalation twice daily.

Method

Inhale the medicine through your mouth into your lungs. Remember to rinse your mouth with water after each dose and spit it out to prevent side effects.

Important

Do not exceed the dose prescribed by your doctor, which is usually two inhalations per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Headache (often goes away with continued treatment).
  • Increased number of common colds (in COPD patients).
  • Thrush in the mouth and throat (sore, yellowish patches), pain in the tongue, hoarseness, or throat irritation. Rinsing your mouth after use can help.
  • Aching, swollen joints and muscle pain.
  • Muscle cramps.
  • Bruises and fractures (in COPD patients).
  • Sinusitis (feeling of pressure or congestion in the nose, cheeks, or behind the eyes; sometimes throbbing pain).
  • Decreased blood potassium (may cause irregular heartbeat, muscle weakness, or cramps).
  • Pneumonia (in COPD patients), with symptoms like fever, chills, increased mucus production, change in mucus color, cough, or worsening breathing difficulties.
RARE
  • Increased blood sugar (hyperglycemia).
  • Cataracts (clouding of the eye lens).
  • Very fast heartbeat (tachycardia).
  • Tremor and fast or irregular heartbeat (palpitations) – usually harmless and lessen with continued treatment.
  • Chest pain.
  • Restlessness (mainly in children).
  • Sleep disorders.
  • Allergic rash.
  • Breathing difficulties or wheezing worsening immediately after using Salflumix Easyhaler. Stop using the inhaler and contact a doctor immediately if this happens.
  • Slowed growth in children and adolescents.
  • Thinning of bones.
  • Glaucoma (a serious eye condition).
  • Weight gain.
  • Round face (moon-shaped face) (Cushing's syndrome).
  • Behavioral changes, such as abnormal activity and irritability (mainly in children).
  • Irregular heartbeat or extra beats (arrhythmias).
  • Fungal infection in the esophagus, which can cause difficulty swallowing.
  • Depression or aggression (more likely in children).
  • Blurred vision.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Salflumix Easyhaler if you are allergic to salmeterol, fluticasone propionate, or lactose (which contains small amounts of milk proteins).
  • Salflumix Easyhaler is not for sudden breathing attacks. Use your fast-acting rescue inhaler (e.g., salbutamol) for these situations.
  • Do not suddenly stop or reduce your dose without your doctor's advice, as this can worsen your breathing problems or cause serious side effects like adrenal insufficiency.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have heart disease (including irregular or fast heartbeat), an overactive thyroid, high blood pressure, diabetes (as it may raise blood sugar), low blood potassium, or a lung infection (like tuberculosis).
  • Seek medical attention immediately if your asthma or breathing problems worsen significantly. Do not increase your dose on your own.

  • Contact your doctor if you experience blurred vision or other eye problems.
  • Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking other medicines, including asthma medications or over-the-counter products, as Salflumix Easyhaler may not be compatible with all medications.
  • Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning a pregnancy.
