How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose is one 24 mg/26 mg or 49 mg/51 mg tablet twice a day (one in the morning and one in the evening). The usual target dose is one 97 mg/103 mg tablet twice a day.

Method

Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water. You can take them with or without food. Do not split or crush the tablets.

Important

The recommended maximum daily dose is two 97 mg/103 mg tablets per day (one in the morning and one in the evening).

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Low blood pressure (may cause dizziness and light-headedness)
  • High potassium levels in your blood (seen in blood tests)
  • Worsened kidney function (seen in blood tests)
  • Cough
  • Dizziness
  • Diarrhea
  • Low red blood cell count (anemia, seen in blood tests)
  • Tiredness
  • Low potassium levels in your blood (seen in blood tests)
  • Headache
  • Fainting
  • Weakness
  • Nausea
  • Low blood pressure when standing up (may cause dizziness or fainting)
  • Stomach pain or upset stomach
  • Low blood sugar (seen in blood tests)
RARE
  • Allergic reaction with skin rash and itching
  • Dizziness when changing position from sitting to standing
  • Low sodium levels in your blood (seen in blood tests)
  • Seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there (hallucinations)
  • Changes in sleep patterns or problems sleeping
  • Paranoia
  • Swelling in the intestines with stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea
  • Sudden involuntary muscle twitching

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to sacubitril, valsartan, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you are using an ACE inhibitor (a blood pressure medicine) or have used one in the last 36 hours.
  • Do not take if you have ever had angioedema (severe swelling of the face, throat, or tongue) when taking an ACE inhibitor or ARB medicine.
  • Do not take if you have severe liver disease.
  • Do not take if you are more than 3 months pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
