How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose is one 24 mg/26 mg or 49 mg/51 mg tablet twice a day (morning and evening); the usual target dose is one 97 mg/103 mg tablet twice a day.

Method

Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water. You can take them with or without food. Do not break or crush the tablets.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Low blood pressure (hypotension), which can cause dizziness and light-headedness.
  • High potassium in the blood (hyperkalemia), seen in blood tests.
  • Reduced kidney function (renal impairment).
  • Cough.
  • Light-headedness.
  • Diarrhea.
  • Low red blood cell count (anemia), seen in blood tests.
  • Tiredness (fatigue).
  • Sudden inability of kidneys to work properly (acute kidney failure).
  • Low potassium in the blood (hypokalemia), seen in blood tests.
  • Headache.
  • Fainting (syncope).
  • Weakness (asthenia).
  • Nausea.
  • Low blood pressure (dizziness, light-headedness) when changing from sitting or lying to standing.
  • Stomach inflammation (stomach pain, nausea).
  • Spinning sensation (vertigo/dizziness).
  • Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), seen in blood tests.
RARE
  • Angioedema (swelling of the face, lips, tongue, and throat that can cause difficulty breathing or swallowing).
  • Allergic reaction with rash and itching (hypersensitivity).
  • Dizziness when changing from sitting to standing (postural dizziness).
  • Low sodium in the blood (hyponatremia), seen in blood tests.
  • Seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there (hallucinations).
  • Changes in sleep patterns (sleep disorders).
  • Paranoia.
  • Intestinal angioedema: swelling in the intestines with symptoms like stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
  • Sudden involuntary muscle twitching (myoclonus).

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to sacubitril, valsartan, or any other ingredients of this medicine.
  • Do not use this medicine if you are also taking an ACE inhibitor; wait 36 hours after your last ACE inhibitor dose before starting Sacubitril/Valsartan Krka.
  • Do not use if you have had angioedema (rapid swelling of the face, throat, or other body parts) which can make breathing or swallowing difficult.
  • Do not use if you have diabetes or kidney disease and are taking a blood pressure medicine containing aliskiren.
  • Do not use if you have severe liver disease.

  • Do not use if you are more than 3 months pregnant or are in the first 3 months of pregnancy; tell your doctor right away if you become pregnant.
  • Do not give this medicine to children under 1 year of age.
  • If you feel dizzy or very tired while taking this medicine, do not drive, cycle, or use machinery.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly without your doctor's approval, as it may worsen your condition.
