How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose for adults is one 24 mg/26 mg or 49 mg/51 mg tablet twice a day (one in the morning and one in the evening). The usual target dose is one 97 mg/103 mg tablet twice a day.

Method

Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water. You can take this medicine with or without food. Do not split or crush the tablets.

The maximum recommended daily dose for adults is one 97 mg/103 mg tablet twice a day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Low blood pressure, causing dizziness and lightheadedness
  • High potassium levels in your blood (seen in blood tests)
  • Worsening kidney function or acute kidney failure
  • Cough
  • Dizziness
  • Diarrhea
  • Low red blood cell count (anemia)
  • Tiredness/Fatigue
  • Low potassium levels in your blood (seen in blood tests)
  • Headache
  • Fainting
  • Weakness
  • Nausea
  • Low blood pressure when standing up, causing dizziness or lightheadedness
  • Stomach inflammation (stomach pain, nausea)
  • Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia)
RARE
  • Angioedema (severe allergic reaction with swelling of the face, lips, tongue, and/or throat, making it hard to breathe or swallow)
  • Allergic reaction with rash and itching
  • Dizziness when standing up (postural dizziness)
  • Low sodium levels in your blood (hyponatremia)
  • Hallucinations (seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not real)
  • Sleep disturbances
  • Paranoia
  • Intestinal angioedema (swelling in the intestines causing stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea)
  • Sudden involuntary muscle twitching

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to sacubitril, valsartan, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you are taking another type of medicine called an ACE inhibitor (like enalapril, lisinopril, or ramipril). Wait 36 hours after your last ACE inhibitor dose before starting Sacubitril/Valsartan Devatis.
  • Do not take if you have ever had a severe allergic reaction called angioedema (swelling of the face, lips, tongue, and/or throat, making it hard to breathe or swallow), whether it was hereditary, idiopathic, or caused by an ACE inhibitor or ARB medicine.
  • Do not take if you have diabetes or kidney problems and are taking a blood pressure-lowering medicine containing aliskiren.
  • Do not take if you have severe liver disease.
