How to Use

Dosage

One tablet once daily.

Method

Take the tablet whole with water, at any time of day, with or without food. Try to take it at the same time each day.

Important

Maximum one tablet per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Headache
  • Abdominal pain
  • Constipation
  • Nausea
  • Muscle pain
  • Weakness
  • Dizziness
  • Increased protein in urine (usually temporary and harmless)
  • Diabetes (more likely if you have high blood sugar/fat, are overweight, or have high blood pressure)
  • Increased liver enzymes in blood tests
  • Muscle tenderness or weakness
  • Diarrhea
  • Flatulence
  • Tiredness
RARE
  • Severe allergic reactions, such as swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, difficulty swallowing or breathing, or severe itching and hives. Stop taking the medicine and seek immediate medical help.
  • Unusual or lasting muscle pain or soreness, which could be a sign of serious muscle damage (rhabdomyolysis). Stop taking the medicine and contact your doctor immediately.
  • Severe abdominal pain (pancreatitis).
  • Decreased blood cell count, which may cause bruising or bleeding (thrombocytopenia).
  • Jaundice (yellowing of the skin and whites of the eyes).
  • Liver inflammation (hepatitis).
  • Small amounts of blood in the urine.
  • Nerve damage in arms and legs (such as numbness).
  • Memory loss.
  • Breast enlargement in men (gynecomastia).
  • Sleep problems, including insomnia and nightmares.
  • Sexual problems.
  • Depression.
  • Breathing problems, including persistent cough, shortness of breath, or fever.
  • Tendon injury.
  • Persistent muscle weakness.
  • Liver disease.
  • Raised red skin rashes (erythema multiforme).
  • Muscle breakdown.
  • Gallstones or gallbladder inflammation, which can cause abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting.
  • Myasthenia gravis or ocular myasthenia (diseases causing muscle weakness).
  • Lupus-like syndrome (with symptoms like rash, joint pain, and blood cell changes).
  • Muscle rupture.
  • Severe skin reactions, such as reddish, circular patches with possible blistering, skin peeling, and sores in the mouth, throat, nose, genitals, or eyes (Stevens-Johnson syndrome), which may be preceded by fever and flu-like symptoms.
  • Widespread rash, fever, and enlarged lymph nodes (DRESS syndrome).
  • Tingling sensations.
  • Dry mouth.
  • Back pain.
  • Pain in arms and legs.
  • Swelling, especially in hands and feet.
  • Cough.
  • Indigestion.
  • Heartburn.
  • Joint pain.
  • Muscle cramps.
  • Neck pain.
  • Decreased appetite.
  • Chest pain.
  • Hot flashes.
  • High blood pressure.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to rosuvastatin, ezetimibe, or any other ingredients.
  • Do not take if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you become pregnant, stop immediately and tell your doctor. Women who can become pregnant must use effective contraception.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have liver disease or severe kidney disease.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have repeated or unexplained muscle pain.
  • Do not take this medicine if you are taking certain hepatitis C drugs (sofosbuvir, velpatasvir, voxilaprevir) or ciclosporin (used after organ transplants).

  • If you are taking fusidic acid for a bacterial infection, you must temporarily stop this medicine. Ask your doctor when it is safe to restart.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have myasthenia (general muscle weakness) or ocular myasthenia (eye muscle weakness), as statins can sometimes worsen these conditions.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Reduce the dose in moderately severe renal impairment. Do not use in severe renal impairment. Possible adverse effects include muscle pain and muscular weakness. Concurrent use of aluminium and magnesium reduces the effectiveness of the drug,. Consider potential interactions.
