How to Use

Dosage

Adults usually start with 5 mg or 10 mg once a day. For children (6-17 years), the usual starting dose is 5 mg once a day, with a dose range of 5-20 mg.

Method

Take one tablet whole with water, once a day. You can take it with or without food. Try to take it at the same time each day.

Important

The maximum daily dose for adults is 40 mg. Children (6-17 years) should not take more than 10 mg or 20 mg daily, depending on their condition, and should not use the 40 mg tablet.

  • Increased protein in urine (usually temporary)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to rosuvastatin or any of its ingredients.
  • Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you become pregnant, stop using it and tell your doctor immediately.
  • Stop taking this medicine and see a doctor right away if you get severe or unexplained muscle pain or weakness, especially if you also have a fever.
  • Seek immediate medical help if you develop severe skin reactions like rash, blisters, or peeling skin, as these can be serious conditions (e.g., Stevens-Johnson syndrome or DRESS).
  • Tell your doctor if you have liver or severe kidney problems, or if you are taking medicines like ciclosporin (used after organ transplants) or fibrates (other cholesterol-lowering medicines).
