Rosuvastatin ratiopharm is a statin medicine that helps lower high levels of "bad" cholesterol and increase "good" cholesterol in your blood to reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke.
Your doctor will tell you how much to take, usually starting with 5 mg or 10 mg once daily. For children (6-17 years), the dose is usually 5-20 mg daily.
Swallow the tablet whole with water once a day. You can take it at any time, with or without food. Try to take it at the same time each day to help you remember.
The maximum daily dose for adults is 40 mg. For children aged 6-17, the maximum daily dose is 10 mg or 20 mg, depending on their condition. The 40 mg tablet is not suitable for children.
Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Reduce the dose in moderately severe renal impairment. Do not use in severe renal impairment. Possible adverse effects include muscle pain and muscular weakness. Concurrent use of aluminium and magnesium reduces the effectiveness of the drug,. Consider potential interactions.
