How to Use

Dosage

Apply a thin layer of cream once a day, usually in the evening. Your doctor may advise using it twice a day if needed.

Method

Apply the cream to well-cleaned skin.

Important

Do not exceed two applications per day, or the maximum daily dose prescribed by your doctor.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Dry skin
  • Skin redness
  • Itching
  • Unpleasant skin sensations (burning, pain, stinging)
  • Skin irritation
  • Worsening of rosacea
RARE
  • Contact dermatitis (contact eczema)
  • Reduced sense of touch
  • Tingling or numbness (paresthesia)
  • Taste disturbance (metallic taste in mouth)
  • Nausea

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Rosazol if you are allergic to metronidazole or any other ingredients in this medicine, or to other imidazole derivatives (e.g., many antifungals).
  • Avoid getting the cream in your eyes or on mucous membranes. If it accidentally comes into contact with them, wipe it off carefully and/or rinse with water.
  • Avoid strong sunlight and sunbeds during treatment, especially for about 4 hours after applying the cream, as UV radiation can reduce its effect.
  • If you have a blood disorder, use this medicine with caution.
  • Avoid unnecessary long-term use of Rosazol.

  • This medicine should not be used in children or adolescents under 18 years of age.
  • If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning a baby, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine. It should only be used during pregnancy if clearly necessary, and discuss with your doctor before using during breastfeeding.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Topical treatment: Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. In topical use, there is absorption through mucous membranes and broken skin. Consider potential interactions, especially with warfarin. Do not drink alcohol during treatment. (updated 11.9.2023)
