Rosamera is a combination medicine containing rosuvastatin, perindopril, and amlodipine, used to treat high blood pressure and high cholesterol at the same time.

How to Use

Dosage

The recommended dose is one tablet once a day.

Method

Take the tablet preferably in the morning before a meal with a glass of water.

Important

Do not take more than one tablet per day. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten one.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Swelling (fluid retention)
  • Dizziness, headache, spinning sensation
  • Heart palpitations (feeling your heartbeat)
  • Low blood pressure, flushing
  • Cough, shortness of breath
  • Digestive problems (e.g., taste changes, indigestion, vomiting, stomach pain, nausea, diarrhea, constipation)
  • Allergic reactions (like skin rash, itching)
  • Vision problems (including seeing double)
  • Muscle pain, muscle cramps
  • Feeling tired, weakness
  • Diabetes (more likely if you have high blood sugar/fats, are overweight, or have high blood pressure)
  • Tinnitus (ringing in the ears)
RARE
  • Mood changes, sleep problems, depression, insomnia
  • Tremors, tingling or numbness in limbs, loss of pain, fainting
  • Irregular or fast heartbeat
  • Inflammation of blood vessels
  • Chest tightness, wheezing, shortness of breath (bronchospasm); sneezing/runny nose
  • Dry mouth
  • Severe itching or rash, blisters on skin, hair loss, increased sweating, red patches on skin, skin color changes
  • Sensitivity to sunlight
  • Joint pain, back pain
  • Urination problems (e.g., increased need at night, frequent urination)
  • Erectile dysfunction, breast pain or enlargement in men
  • Chest pain, feeling unwell, swelling in arms/legs, fever
  • Abnormal liver function, liver inflammation (hepatitis), yellowing of skin and eyes (jaundice)
  • Serious skin reactions (e.g., erythema multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, DRESS)
  • General muscle weakness (Myasthenia gravis) or eye muscle weakness (Ocular Myasthenia)
  • Kidney problems, reduced or absent urine output
  • Memory loss
  • Swollen gums
  • Blood in urine (small amounts)

Important Warnings

  • Stop taking Rosamera and seek immediate medical help if you experience swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, or have difficulty swallowing or breathing, as these could be signs of a serious allergic reaction called angioedema.
  • Do not take Rosamera if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. If you become pregnant while taking this medicine, stop immediately and contact your doctor.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you experience unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness, especially if you also feel unwell or have a fever, as these could be signs of serious muscle problems.
  • Be careful when driving or operating machines, as Rosamera can cause dizziness, tiredness, headaches, or nausea. If you experience these symptoms, do not drive or use machines and contact your doctor.
  • Stop taking Rosamera and seek immediate medical attention if you develop serious skin reactions such as widespread rash, red patches, blisters, or peeling skin, especially if accompanied by fever (e.g., Stevens-Johnson syndrome or DRESS syndrome).

  • Do not take Rosamera if you have very low blood pressure or serious liver disease.
  • If you are taking or have recently taken fusidic acid (an antibiotic), stop Rosamera and tell your doctor, as this combination can cause severe muscle problems.
