Ropinostad is a medication containing ropinirole, used to treat Parkinson's disease by mimicking natural dopamine in the brain.
The starting dose is usually 2 mg once daily for the first week, which may be increased to 4 mg once daily from the second week; your doctor will adjust the dose to find what works best for you.
Take Ropinostad once a day at the same time, swallowed whole with a glass of water. Do not break, chew, or crush the tablets. You can take it with or without food.
Some patients may take up to 24 mg of Ropinostad prolonged-release tablets per day.
Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Sedative. Common adverse effects include orthostatic hypotension, confusion, sudden episodes of deep sleep, impulse control disorders and lower limb edema.. . (updated 6.10.2025)
