How to Use

Dosage

Start with 2 mg once daily for the first week. Your doctor may increase your dose to 4 mg daily from the second week. Your dose will be adjusted to suit you, up to a maximum of 24 mg daily.

Method

Take Ropinirol Krka once a day at the same time each day. Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water. DO NOT break, chew, or crush the tablets.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 24 mg. Do not take more than your doctor prescribes.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Fainting
  • Drowsiness
  • Nausea (feeling sick)
  • Sudden sleep attacks (falling asleep without warning)
  • Hallucinations (seeing things that are not there)
  • Vomiting
  • Dizziness
  • Heartburn
  • Stomach pain
  • Constipation
  • Swelling in legs, feet, or hands
RARE
  • Dizziness or faintness when standing up quickly (due to low blood pressure)
  • Low blood pressure
  • Extreme sleepiness during the day
  • Mental health issues like severe confusion, paranoia, or strange thoughts
  • Hiccups
  • Allergic reactions (red, itchy skin, hives, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat making it hard to swallow or breathe)
  • Changes in liver function (shown in blood tests)
  • Aggression
  • Craving for more medicine than needed (dopaminergic dysregulation syndrome)
  • Problems controlling urges (like gambling, overeating, excessive shopping, or increased sexual urges/behavior)
  • Depression, apathy, anxiety, fatigue, sweating, or pain after stopping or reducing treatment
  • Periods of overactivity, elevated mood, or irritability (mania)
  • Spontaneous penile erection
  • Uncontrolled movements (dyskinesia) (especially if also taking L-dopa)
  • Confusion (especially if also taking L-dopa)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to ropinirole or any other ingredients.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have severe kidney or liver disease.
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, think you might be pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
  • This medicine is not for people under 18 years old.
  • Tell your doctor if you have severe heart disease or severe mental health problems.

  • Be aware of unusual urges or behaviors like gambling, overeating, excessive shopping, or increased sexual urges. Tell your doctor if you experience these.
  • This medicine can make you feel very sleepy or suddenly fall asleep without warning. Do not drive or operate machinery if this happens.
  • You might see, hear, or feel things that are not there (hallucinations). If you do, do not drive or use machines.
  • If you know you have problems with certain sugars (like lactose intolerance), talk to your doctor before taking this medicine.
