How to Use
Dosage
Apply 1 gram (about half a capful) of foam twice a day.
Method
Apply the foam with your fingertips to the dry scalp areas where hair is thinning. Wash your hands immediately after use.
Important
Do not use more than 2 grams (one full capful) per day, and do not apply more than twice daily.
Possible Side Effects
COMMON
- •Sudden, unexplained weight gain.
- •Headache.
- •Itchy skin or rash.
- •Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing.
- •Excessive hair growth on other parts of the body.
RARE
- •Swelling of hands or feet.
- •Weakness or dizziness.
- •Nausea (feeling sick to your stomach).
- •Swelling of face, lips, or throat, making it hard to swallow or breathe (may be a severe allergic reaction).
- •Persistent redness, rash, or irritation on the scalp.
- •Fast or irregular heartbeat.
- •Chest pain.
- •Low blood pressure.
- •Eye irritation.
- •Vomiting.
- •Temporary increase in hair shedding initially (can be a sign the medicine is working).
- •Changes in hair color and/or texture.
- •Skin reactions at the application site, such as itching, irritation, pain, rash, swelling, dry skin, or redness of the scalp, ears, or face. More severe reactions might include peeling skin, blisters, or sores.
Important Warnings
- Do not use if you are allergic to minoxidil or any other ingredient in this medicine.
- Talk to your doctor if you have heart disease, unusual heart rhythm, chest pain, or circulation problems.
- Rogaine foam is highly flammable. Keep it away from open flames, sparks, and do not smoke during or immediately after applying.
- Do not use this medicine if you are under 18 years old.
- Do not use this foam with other medicines or styling products applied to your scalp. Ensure your scalp is dry before applying.

- Do not use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or trying to get pregnant. This medicine is not for women.
- If you feel dizzy or have low blood pressure, do not drive or use machines.
- Avoid contact with eyes. If foam gets into your eyes, rinse them immediately and thoroughly with cool running water.
- Do not use if your hair loss pattern is not typical (e.g., not receding hairline or thinning crown), if hair loss is not in your family, if it's sudden or patchy, if the cause is unknown, or if your scalp is inflamed, infected, irritated, or painful.
