How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose is 0.6 mg for each kilogram of your body weight.

Method

A doctor or nurse will give you this medicine into a vein, either as a single injection or as a continuous drip.

Important

Your doctor will decide the maximum amount you receive based on your individual needs and other medications you are taking.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Increased heart rate (tachycardia), especially in children.
  • Slow recovery from anesthesia.
  • Low blood pressure (hypotension).
  • The medicine not working well enough, or its effect becoming stronger or weaker.
  • Pain at the injection site.
  • Prolonged muscle relaxation.
RARE
  • Severe allergic reactions, including rash, itching, breathing difficulties, low blood pressure, fast heart rate, circulatory collapse, shock, swelling of the face, lips, throat, or tongue, hives, and skin redness.
  • Breathing stops (respiratory arrest) or becomes very shallow/slow (respiratory depression).
  • Severe allergic coronary artery spasm (Kounis syndrome) causing chest pain or heart attack.
  • Increased histamine levels in the blood.
  • Wheezing (bronchospasm).
  • Inability to move (paralysis).
  • Muscle weakness (especially after long-term use in the ICU, particularly with corticosteroids).
  • Widened pupils (mydriasis) or fixed pupils that do not change size with light or other stimuli.

Important Warnings

  • Tell your doctor if you are allergic to rocuronium bromide or any other muscle relaxants.
  • Inform your doctor if you have kidney, liver, gallbladder, or heart disease, or any condition affecting your blood circulation.
  • Let your doctor know if you have swelling due to fluid retention (edema) or if you are dehydrated.
  • Tell your doctor if you have a nerve or muscle disorder, such as polio or myasthenia gravis.
  • Inform your doctor if you have ever had a very low body temperature during anesthesia or if you have imbalances in blood calcium, potassium, or magnesium levels.

  • Let your doctor know if your blood is too acidic, has too much carbon dioxide, or if your blood protein levels are low.
  • Tell your doctor if you have lost a lot of weight, are overweight or elderly, or have severe burns.
