How to Use

Dosage

One 2.5 mg tablet twice a day.

Method

Take at the same time each day (e.g., one tablet in the morning and one in the evening), with or without food. If you have trouble swallowing, you can crush the tablet and mix it with water or applesauce just before taking it.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Feeling weak, tired, or looking pale due to fewer red blood cells.
  • Bleeding (e.g., nosebleeds, gum bleeding, blood in urine, easy bruising).
  • Stomach ache, indigestion, nausea, vomiting, constipation, or diarrhea.
  • Headache or dizziness.
  • Rash or itchy skin.
RARE
  • Bleeding into a muscle.
  • Yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice).

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to rivaroxaban or any other ingredients.
  • Do not take if you have severe bleeding or a condition that increases the risk of serious bleeding (like a stomach ulcer or brain bleed).
  • Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have severe kidney disease, very high blood pressure that is not controlled, are over 75 years old, or weigh less than 60 kg, as these can increase your bleeding risk.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C
