How to Use

Dosage

One 2.5 mg tablet.

Method

Take one tablet twice a day at the same time, with or without food. If you cannot swallow the tablet whole, you can crush it and mix with water or applesauce.

Important

The recommended maximum daily dose is two 2.5 mg tablets, totaling 5 mg per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Feeling weak, pale, or short of breath because of fewer red blood cells.
  • Bleeding, such as nosebleeds, gum bleeding, blood in urine or stool, or heavy periods.
  • Bruising or swelling in your arms or legs.
  • Stomach pain, indigestion, feeling sick, vomiting, constipation, or diarrhea.
  • Dizziness, headache, weakness, tiredness, or low blood pressure (making you feel dizzy when standing up).
  • Rash or itchy skin.
RARE
  • Bleeding in the brain (symptoms like severe headache, one-sided weakness, vomiting, seizures, or confusion) or serious internal bleeding. Seek urgent medical help.
  • Severe spreading skin rash, blisters (Stevens-Johnson syndrome), or a serious drug reaction with fever and organ swelling (DRESS syndrome). These are very rare and need urgent medical attention.
  • Swelling of face, lips, mouth, tongue or throat, trouble swallowing or breathing, hives, and sudden drop in blood pressure. This is a severe allergic reaction and needs urgent medical help.
  • Liver problems (like jaundice, where skin and eyes turn yellow) or kidney problems after severe bleeding.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to rivaroxaban or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you are experiencing heavy bleeding or have a condition that increases your risk of severe bleeding, such as a stomach ulcer or recent brain surgery.
  • Do not take if you are already taking other medicines to prevent blood clots (like warfarin), unless your doctor tells you to switch medicines.
  • Do not take if you have liver disease that increases your risk of bleeding, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you need surgery or a medical procedure, tell your doctor. It's very important to take this medicine exactly as your doctor tells you before and after the procedure.

  • If you have a spinal injection or catheter and notice numbness, weakness in your legs, or problems with your bladder or bowels afterwards, tell your doctor immediately as this is serious.
  • Rivaroxaban Orion is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
