How to Use

Dosage

One 10 mg tablet once daily. Your doctor will tell you how long to take it.

Method

Take exactly as your doctor tells you, usually with water, with or without food. If you have trouble swallowing, the tablet can be crushed and mixed with water or apple sauce right before taking.

Important

Do not exceed 20 mg per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Decrease in red blood cells, causing pale skin, weakness or shortness of breath.
  • Bleeding in the stomach or intestines, urinary tract or genitals (including blood in urine and heavy menstrual bleeding), nosebleeds, gum bleeding.
  • Bleeding in the eye (including in the whites of the eye).
  • Bleeding into tissue or body cavities (hematoma, bruising).
  • Coughing up blood.
  • Bleeding from or under the skin.
  • Bleeding after surgery.
  • Oozing of blood or fluid from a surgical wound.
  • Swelling or pain in limbs.
  • Kidney problems (seen in medical tests).
  • Fever.
  • Stomach ache, indigestion, nausea or vomiting, constipation, diarrhea.
  • Low blood pressure (may cause dizziness or fainting when standing up).
  • Decreased general strength and energy (weakness, tiredness), headache, dizziness.
  • Rash, itchy skin.
  • Blood tests may show increased liver enzymes.
RARE
  • Bleeding into a joint causing pain and swelling.
  • Low platelet count (platelets are cells that help blood clot).
  • Allergic reactions.
  • Liver problems (seen in medical tests).
  • Blood tests may show increased bilirubin, pancreatic or liver enzymes, or platelet count.
  • Fainting.
  • Feeling unwell.
  • Fast heartbeat.
  • Dry mouth.
  • Hives.
  • Bleeding into a muscle.
  • Cholestasis (reduced bile flow), hepatitis (liver inflammation, including liver damage).
  • Yellowing of the skin and eyes (jaundice).
  • Local swelling.
  • Blood clot in the groin (hematoma), a complication after a heart procedure where a catheter was inserted into a leg artery.
  • Accumulation of eosinophils (a type of white blood cell) causing lung inflammation (eosinophilic pneumonia).
  • Kidney failure after severe bleeding.
  • Bleeding in the kidney, sometimes with blood in the urine, leading to kidney dysfunction.
  • Increased pressure in arm and leg muscles after bleeding, causing pain, swelling, and changes in feeling, like numbness or weakness.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to rivaroxaban or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you have severe bleeding.
  • Do not take if you have an organ disease or condition that increases the risk of serious bleeding (e.g., stomach ulcer, brain injury or bleeding, recent brain or eye surgery).
  • Do not take if you are taking other medicines to prevent blood clotting (e.g., warfarin, dabigatran, apixaban, or heparin), unless you are switching treatments or heparin is given to keep a catheter open.
  • Do not take if you have a liver disease that causes an increased risk of bleeding.

  • Do not take if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Always tell your doctor or pharmacist about all other medicines you are taking, including over-the-counter drugs, as they may affect Rivaroxaban Krka.
  • This medicine can cause dizziness or fainting. Do not drive or use machines if you experience these symptoms.
  • Seek immediate medical help if you experience signs of severe bleeding, such as headache, weakness on one side of the body, vomiting, seizures, decreased consciousness, or stiff neck, as these may be signs of bleeding in the brain or inside the head.
  • Seek immediate medical help if you experience signs of severe skin reactions like spreading rash, blisters, or changes in mouth/eye mucous membranes.
  • Seek immediate medical help if you experience signs of a severe allergic reaction, such as swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue or throat, difficulty swallowing, hives, breathing difficulties, or a sudden drop in blood pressure.
