Risperidone Stada is an antipsychotic medication used to treat conditions such as schizophrenia, mania, and persistent aggression or behavioral disorders.
For adults, the typical starting dose is 2 mg once daily, which may be increased to a maintenance dose of 4–6 mg per day. For elderly patients, the typical starting dose is 0.5 mg twice daily, gradually increasing to 1–2 mg twice daily.
Swallow the tablets whole with water. They can be taken with or without food. Tablets with a score line can be divided into equal doses.
Generally, the maximum daily dose for adults is 6 mg per day.
Avoid use in older adults. For treatment of psychosis only. Use only in special cases and for a limited time in the management of severe behavioural symptoms of cognitive impairment. Reduce the dose already in mild renal impairment. Increases the risk of cardiovascular events, QT prolongation and orthostatic hypotension. Increases risk for falls and extrapyramidal symptoms.
