Risperidone Grindeks is an antipsychotic medicine used to treat schizophrenia, mania, and long-term aggression, helping to relieve symptoms and prevent them from returning.
For schizophrenia: Adults typically start with 2 mg once daily, increasing to 4 mg on the second day; most patients feel best with 4-6 mg per day, taken as a single dose or divided. Elderly start with 0.5 mg twice daily, gradually increasing to 1-2 mg twice daily.
Swallow the tablet whole with a small amount of water. You can take it with or without food.
The maximum daily dose should not exceed 6 mg, as advised by your doctor.
Avoid use in older adults. For treatment of psychosis only. Use only in special cases and for a limited time in the management of severe behavioural symptoms of cognitive impairment. Reduce the dose already in mild renal impairment. Increases the risk of cardiovascular events, QT prolongation and orthostatic hypotension. Increases risk for falls and extrapyramidal symptoms.
