Risperidone Grindeks is a medicine used to treat schizophrenia, mania, and short-term aggression in patients with Alzheimer's disease or intellectual disabilities.
Typically, adults start with 2 mg once daily, increasing to 4 mg on the second day. Your doctor will adjust the dose, usually between 4-6 mg daily. For elderly patients, the starting dose is usually 0.5 mg twice a day.
Swallow the tablet whole with a small amount of water. You can take it with or without food.
The maximum daily dose for adults is generally 6 mg, but always follow your doctor's specific instructions, as it can vary by condition and age.
Avoid use in older adults. For treatment of psychosis only. Use only in special cases and for a limited time in the management of severe behavioural symptoms of cognitive impairment. Reduce the dose already in mild renal impairment. Increases the risk of cardiovascular events, QT prolongation and orthostatic hypotension. Increases risk for falls and extrapyramidal symptoms.
