Rigevidoncont is a combined oral contraceptive pill that uses two female hormones to prevent pregnancy by stopping ovulation, thickening cervical mucus, and altering the womb lining.

How to Use

Dosage

Take one white tablet daily for 21 days, followed by one green placebo tablet daily for 7 days. A pack contains 28 tablets (21 white and 7 green).

Method

Take the tablets at roughly the same time each day, with a little water if needed. Always start with the first tablet in the pack and follow the arrows and numbers on the blister.

Important

Take one tablet per day. Do not exceed this dose.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Headache (including migraine)
  • Mood changes (including depression)
  • Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain
  • Acne
  • Breast tenderness or pain, breast enlargement or discharge
  • Weight changes
  • Vaginal infections (including yeast infection)
  • Missed or light periods, or changes in vaginal discharge
RARE
  • Severe allergic reaction (e.g., hives, swelling of face/tongue, breathing/circulation problems)
  • Harmful blood clots in a vein or artery (e.g., in leg, lung, heart, brain, liver, stomach/intestines, kidneys, or eye)
  • Yellowing of the skin (jaundice)
  • Erythema nodosum (painful red lumps on the skin)
  • Contact lens intolerance (eye irritation)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to levonorgestrel, ethinylestradiol, or any other ingredients.
  • Do not use if you have or have had a blood clot (in the leg, lung, heart, or brain) or a condition that affects blood clotting.
  • Do not use if you have or have had certain cancers (like breast or genital cancer) or severe liver disease/tumor.
  • Tell your doctor if you are taking certain medicines for Hepatitis C, or St. John's Wort, as they can affect how Rigevidoncont works.
  • Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Stop immediately and contact your doctor if you become pregnant.

  • Seek immediate medical help if you experience swelling of your face, tongue, or throat, or have difficulty breathing or hives (signs of angioedema).
