Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Fever and chills
  • Feeling unwell
  • Headache
  • Skin reactions, redness, itching
  • Pain or tenderness at the injection site
RARE
  • Allergic reactions, severe allergic shock
  • Nausea and/or vomiting
  • Low blood pressure
  • Fast heart rate or pulse
  • Joint pain
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Reactions at the injection site (other than pain/tenderness)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to human immunoglobulins or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • If you have a severe bleeding disorder or low platelet count, this medicine may only be given into a vein, not a muscle.
  • Tell your doctor immediately if you have any signs of an allergic reaction (like sudden drop in blood pressure or shock) while receiving this medicine.
  • This medicine is not for people who are Rh(D)-positive or who have already developed antibodies against the Rh(D) antigen.
  • This medicine can reduce the effect of live vaccines (like measles, mumps, rubella, or chickenpox). You should not get such vaccines for 3 months after receiving Rhophylac.
