How to Use

Dosage

Take 1 to 2 tablets daily, as prescribed by your doctor.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not chew, suck, or hold it in your mouth. Take between meals for best absorption, or with food if it upsets your stomach.

Important

Do not take more than 2 tablets in a 24-hour period unless directed by your doctor.

  • Ulcers in your airways if the tablet is accidentally inhaled

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you have conditions where your body stores too much iron or certain blood disorders.
  • Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not chew, suck, or hold it in your mouth, as this can cause ulcers or stain teeth.
  • Keep out of reach of children. An overdose of iron can be very dangerous for small children.
  • Do not take other iron supplements at the same time as Retafer.
  • Tell your doctor if you have stomach or bowel diseases, as Retafer might worsen them.
