How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose is one or two tablets once a day.

Method

Take the tablet with a glass of water, with or without food.

Important

Do not take more tablets than your doctor has prescribed.

RARE
  • Anemia (low red blood cells)
  • Gout
  • Confusion or nervousness
  • Tingling or numbness of the skin
  • Heart attack or stroke
  • Nosebleeds or sore throat
  • Inflammation of the pancreas or stomach ulcers
  • Increased sweating or itching
  • Kidney problems or impotence
  • Ringing in the ears (tinnitus) or fever
  • Changes in blood values (e.g., low white blood cells, low platelets)
  • Liver problems (like inflammation or yellow skin/eyes)
  • Severe skin reactions (like Stevens-Johnson syndrome, rashes, or blisters)
  • Swelling in the intestines (abdominal pain)
  • Acute breathing distress syndrome (severe shortness of breath, fever, low blood pressure, muscle weakness, confusion)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to enalapril maleate, hydrochlorothiazide, or any other ingredients.
  • Do not take if you have had a severe allergic reaction (like swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat causing trouble breathing or swallowing) to another ACE inhibitor.
  • Do not take if you are more than 3 months pregnant; avoid also during early pregnancy as it can harm your baby.
  • Tell your doctor if you are taking sacubitril/valsartan, as this can increase the risk of severe swelling.
  • If you get severe shortness of breath or lung problems after taking Renitec comp, seek immediate medical help.

  • This medicine can increase the risk of certain skin and lip cancers. Protect your skin from sun and UV light while using it.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Effectiveness is reduced in renal impairment. Consider risk of orthostatic hypotension and hyponatraemia and -kalemia. (updated 19.5.2025)
