- •Severe allergic reaction (e.g., anaphylactic shock, circulatory problems, heart attack)
- •Slow heart rate followed by cardiac arrest
- •Seizures
- •Heart conduction disorder (e.g., irregular heart rhythm)
- •Drug tolerance or dependence
- •Withdrawal syndrome (symptoms include fast heart rate, high blood pressure, agitation, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, anxiety, chills, tremors, sweating)
- •Irregular heartbeat
Important Warnings
- Do not use Remifentanil Orion if you are allergic to it or similar pain medicines, if it's injected into your spine, or if it's the only medicine used to start sleep for surgery.
- Tell your doctor if you have lung or liver problems, or if you or a family member has a history of misusing alcohol or other medicines. These things can make this medicine affect you differently.
- This medicine is an opioid. Using it often can make it less effective, or lead to dependence. Talk to your doctor if you are worried about becoming dependent.
- Do not drink alcohol until you are fully recovered from this medicine.
- If you get this medicine during childbirth, it might affect your baby's breathing. Your baby will be watched closely.

- This medicine is not for babies under 1 year old. It's also not for patients under 18 who are in intensive care and on a breathing machine.
