How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose is one 1 mg tablet once a day.

Method

You can take the tablet with or without food.

Important

Do not take more than one 1 mg tablet per day.

  • Difficulty coordinating muscles (balance disorder)

RARE
  • Stroke (cerebrovascular event)

  • Excessive drowsiness
  • Sudden sleep attacks
  • Hallucinations (seeing or hearing things that are not there)
  • Hallucinations, fever, restlessness, shaking, and sweating (signs of serotonin syndrome)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to rasagiline or any other ingredients.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have severe liver problems.
  • Do not take MAO inhibitors (for depression or Parkinson's) or herbal products like St. John's Wort with this medicine.
  • Do not take pethidine (a strong painkiller) with this medicine.
  • Wait at least 14 days after stopping Rasagilin Krka before starting MAO inhibitors or pethidine.

  • Talk to your doctor if you notice any unusual skin changes, as this medicine might increase the risk of skin cancer.
  • Tell your doctor if you or your family notice unusual behaviors like compulsive gambling, shopping, or increased sexual urges (impulse control disorders).
  • This medicine can make you feel sleepy or cause you to fall asleep suddenly, especially if you take other Parkinson's medicines.
  • This medicine is not for children or teenagers under 18 years old.
  • Avoid using this medicine if you are pregnant, as its effects on pregnancy and the unborn child are unknown.
  • Do not drive or use machines if you feel sleepy or have sudden sleep attacks.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category D

Avoid use in older adults. Serotonergic. Adverse effects include orthostatic hypotension, hallucinations, confusion, dyskinesia, headache, dizziness and bradycardia. Do not use together with other serotonergic preparations. (updated 6.10.2025)
