How to Use

Dosage

Take once a day.

Method

Swallow the capsules whole with liquid at the same time each day, with or without food. Do not take with grapefruit juice.

Important

Do not exceed the dose prescribed by your doctor.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Feeling tired or weak
  • Swelling of ankles
  • Fast or strong heartbeat (palpitations)
  • Flushing (redness of face or skin)
  • Stomach pain
  • Feeling sick (nausea or vomiting)
  • Diarrhea
  • Constipation
  • Indigestion or changes in bowel habits
  • Muscle cramps or muscle pain
  • Chest pain
  • Dry, irritating cough, sinus problems, or difficulty breathing
  • Skin rash
  • Blurred or double vision
RARE
  • Severe allergic reaction: swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat, trouble breathing, severe itching, or skin peeling. Seek immediate medical help.
  • Serious skin reactions: blisters, mouth sores, or skin conditions getting worse.
  • Heart problems: very fast or irregular heartbeats, chest pain, tightness in chest, heart attack, or stroke.
  • Lung problems: shortness of breath, cough, or wheezing.
  • Blood or bone marrow problems: easy bruising, long bleeding time, purple spots on skin, frequent infections, sore throat, fever, feeling tired or weak, dizziness, or pale skin.
  • Severe stomach pain that may spread to your back (pancreatitis).
  • Liver problems: fever, chills, tiredness, loss of appetite, stomach pain, nausea, or yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice).
  • Balance problems (vertigo).
  • Skin tingling, numbness, burning, or unusual sensations.
  • Loss or change of taste.
  • Sleep problems, anxiety, depression, or feeling restless/nervous.
  • Blocked nose, breathing difficulties, or worsening asthma.
  • Swelling in the gut (intestinal angioedema) with stomach pain, vomiting, and diarrhea.
  • Heartburn or dry mouth.
  • More urine than normal, increased need to urinate at night, or frequent urination.
  • Increased sweating or hair loss.
  • Loss or decrease in appetite.
  • Swollen arms and legs.
  • Fever.
  • Sexual problems: inability to get an erection, reduced sex drive, or breast pain/enlargement in men.
  • Changes in blood tests for white blood cells, liver, pancreas, or kidney function.
  • Confusion.
  • Red and swollen tongue.
  • Severe skin peeling or flaking; itchy, lumpy rash.
  • Nail problems (e.g., nails loosening or falling off).
  • Patches on skin and cold limbs.
  • Red, itchy, swollen, or watery eyes.
  • Hearing problems or ringing in ears.
  • Low blood pressure.
  • Sensitivity to sunlight.
  • Nerve problems causing weakness, tingling, or numbness.
  • Swollen gums.
  • Bloated stomach (gastritis).
  • Increased muscle stiffness.
  • Stiffness, tremors, and/or movement problems.
  • Dark urine, nausea, vomiting, muscle cramps, confusion, and seizures (may be due to a hormone problem).

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Rameam if you are allergic to ramipril, amlodipine, other ACE inhibitors, calcium channel blockers, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor immediately if you experience swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, difficulty swallowing or breathing, or itching and rashes, as these could be signs of a serious allergic reaction.
  • Do not use Rameam if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
  • Do not take Rameam if you have severe kidney problems or are undergoing dialysis.
  • Inform your doctor if you have very low blood pressure, severe heart problems, or are taking certain other blood pressure medications (like aliskiren) or sacubitril/valsartan.

  • Avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice while taking this medicine. Limit alcohol consumption as it can make you dizzy.
