How to Use

Dosage

One tablet daily.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole. Do not crush or chew it.

Important

Do not exceed the recommended daily dose of 10 mg. Treatment duration is up to 14 days.

  • Severe allergic reactions (e.g., sudden facial swelling, breathing difficulties, fainting)
  • Vision problems
  • Stomach inflammation (e.g., stomach pain), sore mouth, changes in taste
  • Liver problems (e.g., liver inflammation, jaundice, liver damage)
  • Itching, sweating, skin blisters
  • Kidney problems (e.g., kidney inflammation)
  • Weight gain
  • Changes in white blood cells (making infections more likely)
  • Low platelet count (making bleeding or bruising easier)
  • Frequent infections (e.g., sore throat, high fever, mouth/throat sores)
  • Easy bruising or bleeding
  • Severe blistering of skin, or soreness/sores in mouth and throat

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to rabeprazole sodium or any other ingredient.
  • Do not take if you are pregnant, think you might be pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
  • Not for use in children and adolescents under 18 years.
  • Talk to your doctor if you are 55 or older and have new or recently changed symptoms.
  • Contact your doctor if you experience unexplained weight loss, anemia, stomach bleeding, black stools, difficulty or pain swallowing, frequent vomiting, or vomiting blood.

  • This medicine can cause kidney inflammation. Tell your doctor if you have symptoms like decreased urine, blood in urine, fever, rash, or joint pain.
  • If you get a rash, especially in sun-exposed areas, tell your doctor right away as treatment might need to be stopped.
  • Do not use with other proton pump inhibitors or H2-blockers at the same time.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category A

Suitable for older adults. For short-term use only. Consider the numerous potential interactions, especially with clopidogrel and (es)citalopram. Avoid long-term use. Long-term use carries an increased risk of adverse effects. Risk of hypomagnesemia in prolonged use. (updated 10.11.2025)
