How to Use

Dosage

Adults typically take 1-2 sachets 2-3 times a day. For children, the doctor will determine the dose based on weight and age. To avoid constipation, start with half a sachet daily for the first week, then gradually increase to the dose prescribed by your doctor.

Method

Mix the powder with water, juice, or another beverage. It can also be mixed into soups or soft fruits like applesauce or crushed pineapple.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Questran if you are allergic to colestyramine or any other ingredient, or if you have a complete blockage of your bile ducts.
  • Be careful if you have inflammatory bowel disease or constipation.
  • Long-term use may lead to a lack of fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, K) and increased bleeding risk. Your doctor may recommend vitamin supplements.
  • Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking other medicines, as Questran can affect how they work. Take other medicines 1 hour before or 4-6 hours after Questran.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.

  • Questran contains sugar (sucrose) and can be harmful to teeth. Patients with diabetes should note the sugar content.
  • If you have liver or kidney disease, do not take this medicine without a doctor's recommendation. For children under 5, consult a doctor, especially if they are taking other medicines with propylene glycol or alcohol.

Category C
