How to Use

Dosage

Take one tablet every day.

Method

Take it with or without food, with a little water if needed. Always take it at about the same time each day.

Important

One tablet per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Headache
  • Stomach pain or feeling sick
  • Acne
  • Irregular or missed periods, breast pain, painful periods
  • Weight gain
RARE
  • Fungal infections, vaginal infections
  • Mood changes, depression, anxiety, sleep problems, changes in sex drive
  • Dizziness, migraine
  • Hot flashes, high blood pressure
  • Diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, dry mouth
  • Hair loss, sweating, itching, rash, yellow-brown skin spots (chloasma)
  • Muscle cramps, back pain, jaw pain
  • Breast swelling or lumps, pelvic pain, uterine problems
  • Fatigue, irritability, swelling in body parts (edema)
  • Blood clots (in legs, lungs, heart, brain, eyes, or other organs), heart attack, stroke
  • Liver problems (such as liver tumors, increased liver enzymes)
  • Breast cancer, cervical cancer (or suspected)
  • Abnormal Pap test results

Important Warnings

  • Qlaira does not protect against HIV (AIDS) or other sexually transmitted infections.
  • Contact a doctor immediately if you notice signs of a blood clot, such as swelling or pain in your leg, sudden shortness of breath, chest pain, vision problems, or sudden weakness on one side of your body.
  • Do not use Qlaira if you have or have had a blood clot, a blood clotting disorder, or are about to have surgery or prolonged bed rest.
  • Do not use Qlaira if you have or have had a heart attack, stroke, or severe migraine with aura.
  • Do not use Qlaira if you have severe diabetes with vessel damage, very high blood pressure, or very high blood fat levels.

  • Do not use Qlaira if you have liver disease, a liver tumor, or breast or sex organ cancer (or suspected cancer).
  • Stop using Qlaira and contact a doctor immediately if you experience swelling of the face, tongue, and/or throat, difficulty swallowing/breathing, or hives, as these can be signs of a severe allergic reaction (angioedema).
