How to Use

Dosage

One ampoule once daily via a nebuliser. For those over 21 years, your doctor may prescribe two ampoules daily.

Method

This medicine is inhaled using a nebuliser.

Important

Maximum two ampoules per day, if prescribed by your doctor (for those over 21 years).

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Chest pain
  • Fever
  • Upset stomach (indigestion)
  • Voice changes, including hoarseness or loss of voice
  • Sore throat
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Runny or blocked nose and sneezing (rhinitis)
  • Eye irritation (conjunctivitis), with symptoms like red, itchy eyes and discharge.
  • Rash, which may be lumpy and itchy (hives).
  • At the start of treatment, lung function may worsen and mucus production may increase. This usually gets better gradually.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Pulmozyme if you are allergic to dornase alfa or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Pulmozyme is not recommended for children under 5 years of age.
  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Pulmozyme.
  • Do not use Pulmozyme if you are pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or breastfeeding, unless your doctor has told you to.
  • Do not mix Pulmozyme with other liquids or medicines in the nebuliser.

  • Do not use ultrasonic nebulisers as they can prevent Pulmozyme from working correctly.
  • If you stop using Pulmozyme, your chest symptoms may worsen. Talk to your doctor if you want to stop.
